Reports to: Service Center Supervisor
Location: Remote within the Berkshire Bank footprint
Responds to phone inquiries from customers of Berkshire Insurance Group (BIG) as a member of the BIG Service Center Team. Assists customers with solving their insurance needs and refers callers to account managers when appropriate.
Supports account manager and producer with new business and renewal objectives by handling customer processing needs. Processing duties include processing new business, renewals, changes and claims. Maintains service standards as set by Service Center Supervisor. 30%
Answers billing questions, updates policies and answers general questions. Recommends upgrades in coverage and refers customer to their local account manager for additional policy needs and to the Bank for various product needs. 30%
Processes policy cancellations and reinstatement activity; tracks phone calls for marketing reports and handles mailing for marketing campaigns.20%
Attends association and company sponsored classes to stay abreast of products, pricing and coverage changes within the company and industry contracts. Performs additional duties as requested. 20%
Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
High school diploma
Continuing education in related field
Licensing preferred, but not required
- Minimum 1 year of office experience
Skills & Knowledge:
Working knowledge of all MS Office products and ability to quickly learn most Windows applications
Strong verbal/written communication skills
