Tighe & Bond Consulting Engineers Project Engineer - Transportation in Worcester, Massachusetts

The Project Engineer Transportation will join our Transportation Team in our Westfield, Worcester,or Westwood, MA office. The Project Engineer will collaborate with professionals across our regional offices and serve as an integral part of the project teams delivering engineering solutions to our clients throughout the Northeast (remote work is available throughout the summer and a hybrid approach is anticipated after Labor Day). Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and delivery of transportation projects BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS Preferred) Professional registration as a Massachusetts Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain licensure within one year; licensure in other New England states considered a differentiator Experience in the design of roadway, bridge and multi-modal transportation improvement projects including experience developing construction bid documents for transportation projects for MassDOT and municipalities in Massachusetts Experience with transportation engineering design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with MicroStation a plus Must have a working fluency with Microsoft Office Suite Must thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment, love challenges and details, be resourceful, and have great organizational and time management skill Previous junior staff mentoring and demonstration of leadership skills desired Responsibilities: Projects will include transportation planning studies, roadway design, bridge rehabilitation and replacements, urban intersection and street design, streetscape enhancements, land use projects and construction observations/inspection of various projects for public and private sector clients with a focus in Massachusetts Supporting business development activities including preparing proposals, meeting and developing clients, engagement in professional organizations, and preparing and delivering presentations Preparation of reports such as Design Reports, Functional Design Reports, Design Exception Reports, etc. Overseeing project design teams and managing the technical design and preparation of construction documents, bid documents, technical specifications, quantity and cost estimates for transportation, traffic and land use projects for various State, municipal, and private clients Supporting multi-disciplinary projects including bridge design projects and land development projects Presentations to regulatory, technical, and public audiences, including attending community meetings to support projects Oversee junior professional staff; Supervise work prepared by junior professional staff; mentor junior level staff in technical skills Our best-in-class compensation and benefits package includes competitive salaries, bonuses, ESOP, profit sharing, 401(k) plan, employee wellness program, generous health care plans, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, PTO, training and professional development, student loan paydown program, and tuition reimbursement.
