Eaton Corporation Operations Manager in Worcester, Massachusetts

Eaton’s Distributed-IT Division is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Worcester, MA facility and relocation assistance is available!

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105,000 - $154,000 a year.

What you’ll do:

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the operational performance of the business - leading people and processes through fabrication, paint and assembly to achieve the site’s safety, quality, and customer requirements. In addition, you will supervise all manufacturing engineering activities, to enable production processes at optimal capacity, and drive continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment through diligence in incident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and policy enforcement.

  • Fully engage workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals, and empowering employees to drive decision making.

  • Foster innovation and promote continuous learning by providing formal and informal feedback on employee performance. The Operations Manager puts specific focus and management on OTD, Gross Utilization/Productivity, and other key operational metrics.

  • Partner with the Master Scheduler and Supply Chain department to ensure continuous alignment between demand forecasts and load/capacity plans to optimize schedule execution.

  • Lead the production supervision team, headcount planning, hiring selection, talent development, foster a high-performing work team culture, performance management for the operations and production workforce.

  • Guide and support facility and capital investment decisions to improve business performance and meet customer demand & quality requirements.

  • Lead the Operations organization, ensuring effective talent development and organizational design to achieve the site operational, supply chain, and financial objectives.

  • Lead the manufacturing engineering team to provide optimal support to all departments according to specific responsibilities.

  • Drive continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business System processes and problem-solving tools.

  • Communicate openly and effectively with employees, recognizing and rewarding employees for results and teamwork consistent with Eaton’s high expectations.

  • You will lead 125-175 employees through front line supervisors.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an Operations or Manufacturing environment.

• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business.

• Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited institution.

• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma.

• Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Direct managerial experience within Operations or Manufacturing environment.

• Highly prefer experience utilizing DMM.

Skills:

Position Criteria:

• An applied working knowledge and experience with manufacturing procedures/practices, Lean, safety and quality assurance, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Inventory Control, Purchasing and Production Planning.

• Must possess persuasive skills required of human relations and leadership style driving accountability.

• Must be able to express ideas clearly to direct, motivate and train subordinates.

• Must be able to communicate clearly to management, professionals, exempt and non-exempt employees in all matters concerning production, quality, safety, product design, etc. to ensure that manufacturing objectives are met.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and related tools to perform and communicate business analysis and decisions

• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities are necessary to understand operational inefficiencies and resolve performance opportunities.
