Saint-Gobain Marketing Development Manager in Worcester, Massachusetts

The Specialty Grains and Powders department (SGP) wants to accelerate growth in new applications and new markets. This position plays a key role in this endeavor. You will be working in close collaboration with the SGP business teams, interacting with research as well as sales & product management, to identify growth opportunities and transform them into new revenue generation sources for SGP. Your work will combine data gathering from reports and online searches as well as interviews of key industry players, prospects and customers. You will work using an iterative approach with short cycles of data gathering, analysis, and intermediary conclusions progressively building solid value propositions for the new markets / applications.

Main Tasks:•Work closely with SGP business and research teams to understand SGP core competencies and use this knowledge as a starting step when looking at potential new applications / markets.•In collaboration with R&D and business teams, identify new applications, new material platforms and /or new technologies which could represent relevant new business or market opportunities for SGP.•Through the iterative process described above, develop and quantify value-creating scenarios to capture those new business opportunities•Identify, compile, validate and summarize technical information on applications, material platforms or processes that would lead to new significant business opportunities. Share main outcome with SGP community using appropriate digital tools•Identify, compile, analyze, validate, summarize and extrapolate strategic data on market and trends, including competitive information (financial, value chain, segmentation company profiles, academic players), corresponding to the identified opportunities. Share main outcome with SGP community using appropriate digital tools•Make synthetic recommendations and propose pragmatic solutions to the management based on market and technology assessments. Debrief and support the team in charge of the next steps for a smooth transition.

Background/Education Required:

• BS Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience. MBA preferred. Experience with defining and developing prototypes and validating performance is preferred.• Solid experience in R&D, Marketing and/or Application Engineering and/or Business development and/or Consulting Services in an international environment. Experience with energy, environment, detection & measurement technology or high-performance materials sectors preferred.
