Viability Bi-Lingual Employment & Training Specialist 1 in Worcester, Massachusetts
Position: Bi-Lingual DTA Employment & Training Specialist 1 – Full Time – (Fluency in Spanish required)
Location: Worcester, MA
Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour (with additional $40 biweekly stipend for second language)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm; occasional nights and weekends
$500 sign on bonus ($250 at the completion of first week of training and $250 after successful completion of first 90 days)
Summary: Develops and services employment relationships between clients and community employers, providing access to an array of employment, job training, and educational opportunities. Responsibilities include vocational guidance, job development, job placement, employer education, and customer relations. Works closely with funding source regarding individuals and marketing for referrals with individuals at DTA orientation. Provides assessment and skills training for individuals to assist them in successful employment as well as assessing and finding resources to help individuals become independent. Must speak Spanish fluently.
Qualifications: High School/GED or Hi-SET plus 3 years related experience OR Associate’s degree plus 1 year related experience and/or training. One year supervisory or human service experience desired. Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations.
Requirements: Ability to use computers to include Microsoft Word, data entry, email, and internet essential. Valid driver’s license, 3 years driving experience, good driving record, use of vehicle with compulsory auto insurance and vehicle registration, and willingness to transport program members in personal and/or agency vehicle. Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, and community organizations.
