The Workday Senior Manager role is a critical management position within the Workday Adaptive Planning team. In addition to managing end-to-end deployments for clients and more complex projects, the Senior Manager position is also expected to lead a team of resources providing mentoring, training, and project support within their team.

In this leadership role, it is expected that the Senior Manager works to constantly elevate the teams capabilities by supporting new initiatives as assigned by Directors to further our position as a thought leader in how Workday Adaptive Planning is best deployed. This includes helping with Alight POV’s on implementation methodology, being an industry-specific thought leader on the use of the solution or leading key functions within the business.

Senior Managers are expected to be able to define project timelines, lead scoping and design of the most complex Adaptive projects with often requirements that are not clearly defined by the customer. They need to be able to provide clear guidance on best practices in all areas of Adaptive Planning and guide very large projects from start to finish meeting client expectations for both timeline and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach and mentor a team of Workday Adaptive Planning consultants (People Manager) – typically up to 5 individuals on a senior managers team.

  • Typically overseeing 10-20 projects at any one time.

  • Provide technical guidance to team members on more complex model elements.

  • Ensure success of team members Adaptive projects and provide overall mentorship and training for team development. Assist and participate in implementations as the system architect designing and executing on complex models with a track record of success leading this complex phase of work for all but the most complex projects.

  • Maintain proficiency and certification in the Workday Adaptive Planning solution suite

  • Review and analyze spreadsheet-based financial models and re-engineer into Workday Adaptive Planning

  • Provide guidance to clients regarding finance best practices to be incorporated in their model

  • Contribute to project management and ensure client satisfaction

  • Oversee project management activities and act as escalation point for client issues.

  • Run meetings and complex projects independently with clients overseeing activities of other Adaptive consultants and their deliverables.

  • Deliver end to end complex projects without additional oversight, deliver on budget and with high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Responsible for weekly client meetings and project budget management of multiphase/complex Adaptive deployments.

  • Review weekly project progress with all managers and team members to ensure on time and on budget delivery of all projects within the team.

  • Fulfill other consulting and management duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • 10+ years of work experience with at least 2 in a managerial role

  • 3-5 years of experience working with Workday Adaptive Planning Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Strong financial and/or management accounting background

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly skilled with MS Excel and strong technology acumen

  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

The estimated minimum salary for this role is $92,100.00/year (full-time). In addition to the base salary, this position may be bonus eligible.
