Responsibilities

We are seeking a hands-on experimentalist to develop and commercialize new products for the Chomerics division of Parker Hannifin Corporation. In this role, the successful candidate will work individually or in collaboration with other team members to turn ideas into profitable, manufacturable products. The technical emphasis of this position is binders, fillers (particle/filler morphology, packing and dispersion) as well as processing aspects (such as spray painting) related to filled polymer systems.

Essential Functions

  1. Is an effective contributor; gets their work done. Has a good attitude and is hands-on.

  2. Collaborates in a team environment to support the development of assigned products by applying basic engineering principles and established analytical tools. Develops assigned tasks by analyzing specifications and performance requirements.

  3. Investigates product development factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, cost-defining recommendations, and change proposals.

  4. Completes defined technical tasks (e.g., modifying product functional specifications; defining data elements and structure; analyzing and interpreting test reports). Develops reports and documentation in response to technical information requests.

  5. Conducts routine analyses and/or tests to evaluate product designs, methods, materials or processes and completes required technical documentation by applying engineering principles and company standards, and generating reports, procedures, or change proposals as required.

  6. Provides technical information for review with product engineering and design review teams. Consistently applies established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods. Contributes to supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports.

  7. Adopts lean product development as well as standard engineering development and techniques.

  8. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and/or participating in professional associations.

  9. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities. Contributes and supports other teams as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science • 0 - 1 years of materials development or processing • Good work ethic and hands-on bias • Six Sigma Black Belt, preferred • Design for Six Sigma, preferred • Excellent project management and coordination skills • Must demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written English communication skills • Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Resident Status. • Other duties may be assigned
