Elior North America Dir, Operations in Woburn, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

Working as a Director of Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining multiple accounts in accordance with the approved budget while meeting client expectations. You will be expected to maintain excellent relationships with employees, guests and the client, as well as other departments within the operation. You will be responsible for promoting the professional growth and development of the entire team. You will also foster strong interdepartmental relations and integrate the dining service department with the facility plan of operations. This role requires travel.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The Director of Operations has overall responsibility for all aspects of the operations; in particular as related to sales, profit, and the development of people.

  • Manages financial acumen for all areas including financial reporting with sales reports P&L reports, writing and adhering to annual budgets and cash handling.

  • Manages salaried managers and hourly associates in the Food Service Department.

  • Manages in compliance with Company established policies and procedures.

  • Manages in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

  • Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards.

  • Establishes and maintains good rapport with staff, client and guests.

  • Analyzes and creates trends for financial data.

  • Manages purchasing and inventory controls.

  • Plans menus in consultation with chefs.

  • Is knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred

  • Five to eight years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control

  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable

  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills

  • Strong, polished communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels

  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills

  • Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet

  • ServSafe® Certified

Salary: About $135,000 plus bonus
