Research Engineer I - Building Materials GCP

Position Description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the group leader, the candidate will design, run experiments, produce lab-scale samples, operate pilot equipment, and analyze the experimental outcomes. In addition to designing experiments for the candidate’s primary projects, the candidate will be expected to conduct experiments to support projects led by others.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Utilizes basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake specific tasks and projects with limited scope.

  • Manages and documents projects effectively with supervision.

  • Demonstrates an open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.

  • Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision-making.

  • Incumbent will be required to submit technical reports on project progress and results.

  • Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word

  • Troubleshooting skills to aid in fixing equipment and improving processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Co-op or intern experience is a plus.
