Job Purpose

Perform all tasks involved in the production of MCPP’s resins/plastic compounds including batch mixing,

extruder operation, housekeeping, health and safety. Follow standard work methods and practice safe

work habits to ensure production is run in an efficient and safe manner.

Principal Accountabilities

The functions below are not all inclusive of the duties for this position. Other responsibilities may be

assigned as deemed necessary.

  1. Will be required to complete production work orders recording information including lot numbers

and quantities of raw materials used during production.

  1. Will operate a variety of production machinery and equipment including extruders, cut machines,

dry heat ovens and mixers. Position must follow work instructions, quality specifications and

operational procedures.

  1. Will use standard and specialized tools and equipment including hand tools, cleaners, micrometers,

gauges, and customer fixtures and apparatus.

  1. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety


  1. Comply with all Safety procedures, including PPE, LOTO and safe lifting techniques.

  2. Reads and understands production packages in order to produce product accurately and efficiently.

  3. Performs work as assigned by supervisor on duty.

  4. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Supervisor.

  5. May perform prescribed preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on machines as


  1. Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience


  1. High School Diploma or equivalent or three years of experience in a similar position

  2. The position will be required to perform basic math, read and write English.

  3. Must be computer literate.


  1. Experience in polymers/plastic for medical device , automotive or aerospace applications –

preference given to medical

  1. Understanding of ISO13485 strongly preferred

  2. Experience in batch processing

  3. Knowledge of production based optimization, scheduling, capacity assessment helpful

  4. Skilled in equipment assessments and preventative maintenance

  5. Experience in IQ,OP,PQ processes

  6. Familiarity with 5S/6S systems

  7. GMP or GLP and/or FDA manufactured component experience/knowledge preferred\

  8. Familiarity with basic computer functions desired.

  9. Must have good mechanical aptitude.

  10. Able to maintain production reports/records as required.

  11. Able to perform basic set-ups on these machines and tools that are used in them.

  12. Must be able to become certified in the operation of a forklift per company requirements.

  13. Must be able to work as an active member of a team.

  • The pay rate for this position is $26.78. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
