About This Role
Textron Systems’ recent growth has established the need for a full time Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on electro-mechanical systems for military applications. The candidate should have strong communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with senior management and customer representatives. The candidate should also have experience in the “design/build/test” process. Experience serving as a project lead is a plus. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.
The candidate should be comfortable as a lead designer of mechanical systems with electro-mechanical integration skills primarily for military applications. This includes packaging design of electronics systems and interconnects, the development of interface control documents, and understanding of designing for manufacturing and assembly techniques. The candidate should be well versed in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience performing structural analysis to predict modal and stress results for complex systems, through the use of hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Working knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing to develop meaningful design documentation.
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) skills a plus.
Experience working with subcontractors, providing them requirements and overseeing their design efforts

MSC Nastran and Patran
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
ADAMS Dynamic Modeling
Zemax Optical Analysis Tool
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
5 Years minimum in related field
