Job Description : The L3Harris systems engineering department is seeking a site manager for an engineering team that designs and develops small space-based optical telescopes at its Wilmington, MA location. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day management of a small group of systems engineers, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. Management duties include workforce planning, developing and managing job requisitions, and hiring. Technical responsibilities will include contributions to one or more programs and proposal development.
Essential Functions:
Experience in empowering employees, leading and motivating teams, and fostering collaboration
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Perform technical analysis, manage specifications, and generate design review and technical documents.
Support product test and design verification, requirements sell-off, and end item data package generation efforts.
Experience supporting large space programs across the full system lifecycle
Obtain a DOD security clearance
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
5 years engineering management experience.
Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or other related scientific discipline.
Holds an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Relevant experience with the design, manufacture, integration, test and sell-off of space-based EO/IR subsystems.
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
Ability to lead program milestone reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, FCA/PCA, PSR).
Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership.
Work collaboratively with others and complete assignments with a team-oriented approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills – taking complex concepts and sharing with others.
Experience with project management aspects of technology development programs.
Experience with estimating and managing costs, & creating and managing schedules.
