About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

The HVAC Technician will maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair all types of building equipment and systems (electrical/HVAC) to the customers' satisfaction. Assists other mechanics and technicians occasionally in aspects of building maintenance. Confer with customers to ensure completion of all tasks in a satisfactory manner. Communicate with customers, peers, and contractors to ensure requirements are clearly defined and tasks are fulfilled on-time and with high quality to the customer’s satisfaction.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain, install, and troubleshoot electrical equipment.

  • Maintain, install, and troubleshoot HVAC systems.

  • Perform general building and office repairs.

  • Perform office relocation tasks.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and building drawings.

  • Collect data on various types of equipment.

  • Conduct periodic building walk-through to locate problems.

  • Perform minor carpentry, drywall, and painting.

  • Practice good housekeeping and safety standards.

  • Practice Total Quality principles and concepts.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Hearing, Talking, and Repetitive Motions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position will be exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Visual requirements is the minimum standard based on the criteria of accuracy and neatness of work for mechanics.

Individuals may be excluded from positions where duties or tasks pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

2. Travel to vendor / customer locations when required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years related experience and/ or related technical education and training.

  • Ability to obtain CFC certification andEPA section 608 Technician Universal Refrigerant Certification

  • HVAC certification, journeyman certificate or 3 years experience required.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.

  • Ability to make general mechanical repairs.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to coordinate, plan, and organize.

  • Perform work tasks to achieve requirements and quality standards on time.

  • Optimize customer service.

  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Knowledge of HVAC principles.

  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Typically requires a minimum of three (3) years of relative experience, in construction layout applications, or equivalent education and/or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job. The optimal candidate will possess educational background to include associates degree, technical trade school and/or high school diploma.
