CNC PROGRAMMER
Position Summary
The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming parts, fixturing, tooling, and process optimization support for all CNC machinery. Utilizes a high-level understanding of CAD/CAM software and hands on experience with G-code. This position requires working knowledge & hands on ability to achieve excellence in machining processes across a diverse group of machines.
Principle Responsibilities
Creates and maintains CNC programs for a variety of multi-axis CNC machines.
Creates setup documentation for operators/machinists for use on the shop floor. Serves as a key training resource for setup and production personnel and provides hands-on support for operations.
CNC programmer is a member of the engineering team. Works collectively with all manufacturing and production departments.
Identifies and implements solutions for increased machine productivity and capability.
Actively works with equipment/tooling vendors to find solutions to understand and implement the best technology across new and legacy operations.
Provides daily support and proactively engage with the operations team to discover and solve problems at the source.
Works collectively with the machine operator, proves out new or modified CNC programs and first article support.
Participates in MRB reviews to determine root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action, modifying tooling, fixturing, programs or documentation as needed.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma.
Preferred associate degree and/or technical degree or series of programming classes in the field of programming, engineering, or manufacturing operations required.
3+ years of experience programming CNC machines with 5+ years of combined experience in a precision machining environment is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and understand G/M code.
Medical industry background preferred.
Programming with Siemens Unigraphics NX CAD/CAM software preferred but not required.
Multi-Axis milling and turning.
CNC Machine operation.
Understanding drawings and GD&T.
Goal oriented and able to complete assignments on time with significant latitude and self-direction while exercising sound engineering judgement.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Teamwork oriented.
