Tecomet CNC Machinist-II Milling in Wilmington, Massachusetts

The CNC Machinist II with perform a variety of machine set-up and operating duties where machining is mostly standard work. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet?s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform a variety of machine set-up and operating duties where machining is mostly standard work. Make tooling change overs and machine set-ups under guidance of others and make simple machine adjustments where necessary, working in accordance with company/customer specifications, following prescribed practices. Make limited set-ups where instruction is provided. Operate CNC controlled milling machines and lathes. Under guidance of others, change over tools in machines, change CNC tapes or enter CNC data into terminals. Notify Supervisor/Lead Machinist of job set-ups ready to start. Monitor machine action and where trouble is evident, stop machine and obtain assistance. Make simple machine adjustments to speed and feed where necessary. Perform hand deburring, firing, sanding, etc. Inspect finished parts using gauges, and other measuring instruments. Refer problems to Supervisor/ Lead person. Maintain necessary records. Move materials as necessary in performance of duties. Detect and report improper operation. Faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to Supervisor. Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition. Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions, and maintain quality standards. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor. Qualification Requirements Educational/Training Requirement: High school or equivalent. Experience: A minimum of 2 + years in CNC machining, milling and lathe Arithmetric including decimals and fractions Simple use of drawings, prints, specifications and work orders; use of adjustable measuring instruments where interpretation is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Work from work orders, CNC data/printouts, drawings, and verbal/written instructions from Supervisor/Leadperson. Work with milling machines, lathes, hand power tools, hand tools, CNC control units, computer terminals, tools, fixtures, collets, chucks, blocks, tapes, measuring instruments, microscope, and related tools and equipment.
