Newell Brands Yankee Candle Quality Assistant II - 2nd Shift in Whately, Massachusetts
Job Summary
Conducts activities related to maintaining and improving the quality of the production process and cooperates in meeting the quality goals for the company. Supervises production processes according to the company's standards, standards and requirements in the form of audits / Inspections, documenting the information in approved logs and data bases. Reports out of specs material to the Operations Leader, Machine facilitator, so that corrective actions are implemented. Enforces the utilization of the control documentation, GBS or TAMUs, with the production employees accros different production lines. Performs basic activities in the product burning test.
Knowledge and SKILLS:
· Basic knowledge of measurement tools in production & evaluation of measurement results.
· Orientation to technical standards is an advantage

· Verify company standards and specifications for a given product in the form of audits / Inspections in production
· Creating overviews of non-conformities and findings from audits / Inspections in the form of tables and graphs in MS Excell
· MAIN TASKS AND DUTIES
· Seek answers and information regarding customer or in-house problems with product quality or performance by investigating all parts of the production process.
· Document quality assurance practices by entering data into logbooks, noting information in computer databases and recording all inventory and actions.
· Ensure that during all parts of the production schedule that the product meets all specifications and guidelines related to each SKU.
· Communicate with management and other team members when problems arise and offer possible solutions to help correct any mistakes during manufacturing.
· Carries out analyses and determining the causes of scrap and complaints issuing records of non-conformity (NCMF form) and blocking to the warehouse for Quality HOLD positions
· Inspection and measurement of in-process material according to the given documentation.
· Control of incoming raw materials - control of incoming raw materials according to the relevant SOPs
· Communication of information from the Quality Department to production and vice versa
· Active participation in continuous quality improvement in production and Lean projects
· Takes a picture of new non-conformities in production, describes the non-conformity and sends information so a final decision can be made.
· Performing Olfactive tests on products (sniffing tests)
· Performing burning tests of final/development products according to prescribed SOPs
· Attends Production’s handoff meetings
· Performs In-Line Inspections
· Performs Off-Site Inspections

· Decides to stop production when non-conforming pieces are detected, or if production processes and specifications are not complied with
· Allows the start of stopped production
· Maintaining good quality in production – while adhering to production and control procedures
· Proper performance of the assigned tasks
· Acting outside and inside the company in accordance with the company's goals and values
· Compliance with internal regulations and established systems of YCC
· Compliance with specified measurement procedures, for the correctness of the measurement results
· Implementation of control processes in production in the form of audits according to specs requirements monitoring, evaluating, maintaining and improving quality processes
· Proper management and completion of the prescribed documentation
· Adherence to 6S and Lean principles
Qualifications:
· EDUCATION: High School
· EXPERIENCE: 2 years in a similar position in a manufacturing company
· COMPUTER SKILLS: MS Office, Oracle.
