Title: Sr. Manager of Safety for North America

Location: South Deerfield, Ma

Reports to: Director of Supply Chain Operations for North America #LI-bb1 #li-bb1


Direct and overall responsibility for the development and continuous improvement and execution of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures for all Home Fragrance division locations in United States. The position will provide support to all Safety and Health and Wellness activities and programs for the Home Fragrance 450+ retail stores located and Supply Chain operating facilities in NA. This position will provide support to the DC, manufacturing, R&D lab, and retail store leadership team in achieving their goals to eliminate work related injuries and achieve world class safety cultures. Support includes evaluation of the worksite, training in safety and OSHA related matters, proactive analysis of loss experience and recommendation regarding worksite safety practices.


  • Develop,direct and lead division health and safety (H&S) strategy, programs,initiatives and overall H&S division direction

  • Promote worldclass safety culture by raising expectations across the division and setstandards to maintain and assess a robust, effective EHS Management System

  • Directinitiatives aimed at improving the safety culture across the organizationconsistent with company principles and values

  • Developsand implements company health and safety procedures, processes, and programswhich ensure the safety of the operations, which are compliant with OSHA andother local, state, and federal rules and regulations

  • Developsand implements safety awareness programs, which are behavior-based andcontribute to increased awareness of core safety program elements.

  • Participatein the investigation, documentation and analysis of accidents and injuries andmaintains a follow-up system to ensure corrective action is promptlyimplemented.

  • Responsiblefor serving as a technical resource to support associates, at all levels, onsafety-related issues

  • Analyzesand assesses plant safety trend data to drive safety resource allocation, andergonomic initiatives to reduce injuries.

  • Maintain agood relationship with Workers’ Compensation TPA’s and manages claims,including return to work practices

  • Facilitates,develops and maintains existing safety programs to improve on the SEALassessment score year after year

  • Maintains divisionOSHA log, written safety plans, training records and other reportingrequirements

  • Safetyleader for retail stores

  • Responsiblefor inspecting the facility to detect existing or potential accident and healthhazards, and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.

  • Conducts/participatesin site meetings and promotes an open line of communication with other teammembers

  • Completespecial assignments and projects on an as needed basis


  • Bachelor’sdegree in Safety Management, EH&S, Engineering, or other relevant technicalfields required

  • 5 -7 years’experience related to safety and/or occupational health, preferably in amanufacturing and distribution center environment

  • 10+ years provenand progressive health & safety experience, a minimum of 3 years at thecorporate level

  • Corporatesubject matter expert in Health, Safety and Environmental topics.

  • Experiencein managing health & safety programs in a multi-facility company

  • Experiencein implementing safety culture improvement programs preferred

  • CertifiedSafety Professional (CSP) designation preferred

  • Proficiencyin MS office and safety management information systems.

  • Exceptionalorganizational and communications skills

  • Provenleadership skills, ability to foster employee engagement

  • Experienceleading and developing remote and off-site team of safety of professionals

  • Knowledgeablein Workers’ Compensation case management including transition to work programs

  • Ability towork independently, with minimum supervision, under the guidance of theDirector of Supply Chain Operations within the stated objectives and guidelinesof the company

  • Be able totravel as needed
