WHATELY TEMPORARY WITH TEMP-HIRE OPPORTUNITIES Shoveler/Salting Crew Reliable Temps is looking for dependable Snow Shovelers and Salting Crew for the upcoming season! These positions are temporary however, there are temp-hire opportunities if looking to be full time. Snow Shoveler \$25/hr This is an on call position depending on weather. Responsibilities: Shovel snow, scrape ice, and apply de-icing materials (salt, sand, etc.) to designated walkways and paths to maintain safe and clear conditions for pedestrians. Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of shovels, snow blowers, salt spreaders, and any other tools or equipment used for snow removal. Prioritize safety for yourself and pedestrians. Be mindful of slippery surfaces and hazardous conditions while working. Follow a predetermined schedule to ensure timely snow and ice removal, especially during or after snowstorms. Perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions, often in cold and inclement weather. Collaborate with other snow shovelers to efficiently clear larger areas and assist in emergencies. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with property owners or occupants who may request snow removal services. Qualifications: Reliable transportation in a variety of weather conditions Previous professional snow removal experience encouraged by not necessary Salting Crew \$25/hr Monday-Friday and on call depending on weather. Responsibilities: Ride along with driver to distribute de-icing materials, such as salt or brine, on roads, highways, and other transportation routes. Help salt sidewalks and walkways Inspect, maintain, and repair salt spreading equipment as needed to ensure proper functioning. Load salt or de-icing materials onto spreader equipment and monitor material levels during operations, refilling as necessary. Report any equipment malfunctions or road hazards to the supervisor promptly. Follow a predetermined schedule to ensure timely de-icing and snow-clearing operations. Maintain records of the work performed, including the time, location, and amount of de-icing materials applied. Qualifications: Previous experience operating salt spreaders, plow trucks, or similar winter maintenance equipment is preferred. Knowledge of safety protocols and precautions when working with de-icing materials and snow removal equipment. Able to perform physically demanding tasks and work in cold and sometimes harsh weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to report issues and communicate effectively with other crew members and supervisors. Reliable and punctual, as road salting often needs to occur at specific times, including late nights and early mornings. Why Reliable Temps?
