Description Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Purchasing Assistant position. Main duties include supporting the purchasing department. For this Purchasing Assistant position, excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are required. The Purchasing Assistant will ideally have previous purchasing or procurement experience and a desire to advance their career. This Purchasing Assistant position could be perfect for you if you are looking to start your career within procurement.

What you get to do every day

• Track inventory levels and decide on purchase needs

• Assess and compare suppliers, goods, and services

• Look into supplier profiles and examine offers

• Prepare and organize purchase orders

• Prepare and present detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)

• Support maintenance of records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments

• Oversee relationships with key suppliers to maintain compliance to terms of contracts, quality of goods, and timely delivery

• Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and prices Requirements - Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position

• Proficiency in inventory management software programs, CRM, and ERP

• High school diploma or GED required

• Must have strong research skills and excellent analytical thinking

• Must be very organized and skilled in documentation

• Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred

• Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills
