This position will allow you to bring your technical experience, problem solving skills and thought leadership in managing and driving SW Testing teams and resources.

You will help to ensure delivery of Testing scope and deliverables within project budget and on schedule all the while ensuring consistent use of our QA and Testing CoE defined standard processes and frameworks.

You will also help find opportunities to efficiently work across multiple initiatives and projects, creating a safe culture where people, ideas and technology can thrive together and helps mature Enterprise Quality Engineering and Testing practice.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for driving Quality practice for a portfolio of business applications ranging from Customer facing channels, Enterprise IT and Shared Services, Operations and Real Time Systems.
• Coordinate and partner with IT PMO Team and Project Managers, Product Line Managers, Architecture, IT Security and relevant business and technical partners as a Quality Advocate to assure a fully integrated software delivery approach.

• Provide thought Quality leadership and oversight leading Managed Testing Service Providers and Testing Resources (onshore, nearshore, and offshore) in the following manner:

• Review and approval of Test Estimation – Effort, Resource compositions and spend

• Assess, validate and reason needs with Test Environment, Test Data, Test Tools and Licenses
• Ensure Financial discipline to stay within defined scope and cost

• Drive priority and glue the testing team together

• Ensure Operational discipline such as following through CoE defined Test standards and execution of defined testing approaches and delivery of all Testing artifacts

• Ensure proper usage of tools and technologies
• Validate Test approaches (functional, regression, integration, data, performance, automation, load, security, and continuous testing) to ensure the right business capabilities are built
• Advocate shift left & automation led testing practice to achieve a high degree of right Test Automation penetration across all layers (UI, API, Data)
• Validate ROI on automation

• Onboard and Offboard resources

• Help foster Eversource’s vision to drive consistent quality across all product lines, ecosystems, and relevant applications.

• Lead and support testing resources / team members to improve and evolve ways of working for better collaboration and consistency
• Partner with Quality Engineering leadership to drive a community of testing practice to find continuous improvements in our Enterprise Test standards, processes, Tools and frameworks.
• Assist with driving organizational maturity towards Agile and DevOps Testing practices
• Participate in product design reviews, works with Architecture and development team to improve system testability and overall quality
• Monitor project pipeline and needs with resource demands
• Experience managing all aspects of Quality Assurance and UAT, including test planning, and executing Manual Tests.
• Drive and take ownership for developing connections that help deliver what is best for our people and stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

• A minimum of 10 years as a QA Lead with relevant Testing experience leading small to large onsite & offshore testing delivery teams is required
• Experience driving test frameworks, standards, and processes
• Ability to engage and partner in a large complex matrix organization with a variety of stakeholders
• Prepare and present materials to senior leadership
• Ability to comprehend requirements and technical specifications to develop estimates and recommend a proper test strategy
• Experience working in an Agile setup and enabling a continuous testing culture

• Demonstrated experience with the following relevant tools, such as:

• Microfocus ALM, qTest, Performance Center (LRE) and JMeter

• Experience with modern CICD and relevant Testing Tools such as - AzureDevOps, JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Tricentis TOSCA, Cypress)
• Experience managing Test infrastructure both on-prem and Azure Cloud (preferable)
• Relevant experience with Cloud (AWS or Azure), Containers, Dockers, and Service Virtualization
• Knowledge of Selenium, BDD a plus
• Basic knowledge of Linux, Unix.
• Experience with SAP (Customer Information Systems – CIS) is a huge plus
• Experience testing variety of applications from consumer facing channels such as Web, Mobile, IVR, SMS to Microservices and Middlelayers to variety of backend office applications such as Work Asset Management, Field mobility, Real Time Systems, Finance, Supply Chain Applications, HR applications, accounting applications etc.
• Experience with distribute databases (Oracle, SQL).
• Solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle and Software Testing methodologies
• Experience with Test Data and Test Environment management
• Experience driving Testing Methodologies, Testing standards, governance, and best practices.
• Familiarity with Data Analytics and SaaS Solutions
• Industry recognized QA and/or testing certification is a plus.
• Problem Solver, Team Player, and a leader
• Utility Space experience a plus
• Works well under pressure as the role requires juggling multiple priorities and parallel initiatives

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Program from an accredited College/University

Licenses & Certifications: Certification in ISTQB, SAP and Cloud Technologies – Azure (Preferable) or AWS Certified Solution a plus

Working Conditions:

• Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
