Global Director, Supply Chain Management

job summary:

This position is responsible for developing and executing global strategies to manage the supply chain, and purchasing of all the company's commodities. The position is also responsible for developing a global buying strategy including development of a structure and plans to support domestic and international initiatives. Experience in chemicals is a must. In addition experience in consolidating a multi-location supply chain staff is preferred. This role is open due to an upcoming retirement. The retiree will be heavy involved in training the incoming Global Director.

responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute global supply chain strategies

  2. Direct the overall supply chain functions, primarily focusing on the improvement of the performance and cost effectiveness of the supplier base.

  3. Overall responsibility for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, PPV, and total value of on-hand inventories.

  4. The incumbent is the only company resource authorized to accept price increases.

  5. Responsible for setting up ongoing processes and analysis that will improve the quality, supply continuity, and pricing of goods and services received from suppliers.

  6. Manage cost reduction projects that will include engineering and manufacturing participation.

  7. Research and develop new sources of supply for all commodities and innovative materials.

  8. Develop and execute sourcing and contract negotiations.

  9. Conduct personable and friendly negotiations and help buyers obtain the best performance from suppliers.

  10. Other duties as assigned.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in a related field

  • Global chemical sourcing experience a plus

  • Multi-site and multi-product line experience is preferred

  • 5+ Years of experience in supply chain management

  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills

  • Above average computer skills

  • Microsoft office 365
