Abbott Senior Financial Analyst in Westford, Massachusetts

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.

Our location in Westford, MA currently has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst with Manufacturing Plant Cost experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis.

  • Prepare financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. (Gather and publish financial information related to historical, current and future performance.)

  • Perform financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques. Recommend alternative courses of action.

  • Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.

  • Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.

  • Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.

  • Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. EVA, NPV analysis).

  • Evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. revenues, profitability etc.).

  • Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables (recommending appropriate course of action).

  • Influence middle management on technical or business solutions. May interact with vendors.

  • Plan and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval. Initiates or maintains work schedule.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in financial planning and analysis.

  • Equivalent experience is defined as six years combined experience in the above areas.

  • 4-7 years' experience in financial planning and analysis (in addition to equivalent experience listed above, if applicable), or equivalence in planning and quantitative analysis function.

Preferred

  • Manufacturing Plant Cost experience

  • SAP experience
