Job Overview:

We are seeking a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of efficient and accurate CMM measurement programs for a wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate engineering requirements and update work instructions per the aforementioned.• Create an improvement plan and drive actions.• Develop CMM inspection strategies for high-precision aerospace components to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.• Create new and modify existing CMM programs using offline systems. utilizing CMM Inspection programs.• Output new and edit existing code to run articulated automatic CMM machines.• Create setups and supporting documentation to instruct factory personnel adequately and efficiently on the loading and execution of automated inspection programs.• Organize and plan work effectively to produce output according to budget and schedule constraints.• Troubleshoot programming result errors and work holding issues with production personnel to optimize automated inspection results• Work alongside production, engineering, and facilities teams to execute project deliverables• Can develop, produce, and modify process operation and assembly sheets.• Devoted to meeting quality standards in a fast-paced environment.• Review field and factory failures, to identify common failure modes and issues of a systemic nature. Characterize failures and resolve recurring problems through mistake-proofing.• Develop and execute corrective actions within the Quality System.• Production troubleshooting (cause & effect) must be a strength.• Implements inspection methods and techniques including interpreting CMM results.• Experienced with manufacturing process methods & techniques (conventional & CNC).• Can conceptualize and develop part holding and fixturing methods.• Creates presentations based on process data and results to show opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings• Ability to manage various project and process tasks related to product quality.• Understands cutting tool selection and how to establish feeds and speeds.• Has a basic knowledge of CNC coding (G and M code) and CAD / CAM methods and techniques.• Experienced in training CMM Programming methodology to others

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related field• 5-8 years of experience in CMM programming and metrology• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)• Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical data• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently and in a team environment• Proficiency in programming languages such as PC-DMIS or CALYPSO and MOUDS tools• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
