Middlesex Savings Bank Quality Control Manager in Westborough, Massachusetts

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that residential loan production conforms to bank and secondary market standards for file accuracy, enforceability, security and regulatory compliance, while maintaining exceptional customer service. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.

  • Participates in the division planning and goal-setting process, helps to establish priorities and objectives and assists in the development of strategies to achieve them.

  • Manages the loan closing function and staff. Formulates production and customer service standards, and the policies and procedures to ensure performance according to said standards. Selects, supervises and provides for the continued development of the staff. Conducts performance reviews and provides for ongoing guidance and support.

  • Responsible for the Retail Lending Division’s compliance with internal and secondary market loan quality standards.

  • Develops review and testing methodology, measures performance against standards and reports results.

  • Works with other members of the Retail Lending and Community Banking Divisions to detect, track and correct loan defects.

  • Works directly with attorneys, bank employees and customers to resolve issues of legality, enforceability or non-compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Responsible for regulatory compliance as it relates to the QC and loan closing processes, and in particular, TRID and HMDA. Coordinates and supports internal and external audits and QC reviews, and assists in formulating responses and implementing corrections.

  • Manages approved closing attorney relationships. Establishes closing policies, provides training and guidance, monitors performance and ensures that customer service standards are met.

  • Serves as system administrator and administers the vendor management program for assigned technologies. Assists with the execution of new contracts and the subsequent extensions. Performs risk assessments, conducts user access and privileged user activity reviews and maintains associated records for assigned technologies. Works with vendors to address quality, compliance or customer service concerns. Validates and approves invoices.

  • Maintains MERS relationship.

  • Ensures full compliance with the bank’s Information Security Policies and Procedures.

  • Helps to oversee, test and monitor the use of various models within the department.

  • Assists with the administration of the loan origination system as may be needed.

  • Prepares and distributes a variety of recurring and special reports for use in the administration of the division, and to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Represents the bank through participation in community and industry organizations and promotes the interests of the bank throughout the community.

  • Performs other duties as may be required.

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalency in lending specific training and/or experience.

A minimum of ten years of mortgage lending.

A demonstrated expertise in secondary market guidelines, industry standards and regulatory requirements. A strong working understanding of loan origination and lending related systems.

Effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. The ability to work effectively with other areas of the organization and employees at all levels.
