What you’ll do
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the technical and administrative components of the complete life cycle of large complex projects identified as priorities within Health Plans. Under the supervision of the Manager PMO, performs a variety of duties in support of company projects including Corporate Initiative projects such as developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules, status reports, and communicate due dates as required.
In this role, you’ll also:
Lead the Project team in developing the overall strategy to address the project; manages the scope, quality, and timeliness of the projects; facilitates and participates in or lead calls and meetings; provides direction to Managers and other team members in the preparation, delivery, and completion of complex projects.
Develop and maintain project plans. Monitor project progress and performance to ensure completion of tasks, subtasks, and deliverables on schedule.
Identify and manage resource requirements and constraints. Understands roles and responsibilities of each project team member in order to effectively utilize and administer team resources and activities.
Build and maintain RAID documents.
Provide high level administrative analysis and review of the work of the project team members.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 - 5 years of direct experience leading projects.
Proficiency in project management techniques, tools, and methodologies, including risk assessment, communication planning, resource estimating and advanced use of the MS Office suite of products.
Ability to communicate with management as effectively as with subordinates.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to partner and lead teams to deliver project objectives; ability to work independently and on a team.
Ability to anticipate and understand systems interactions.
Must be detailed, analytical and accurate.
Recognize the need for follow-thru and follow-up.
Ability to work within specified timeframe and meet deadlines.
Recognize and maintain confidentiality of work materials as appropriate.
Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
Health insurance carrier experience preferred, especially managed care operations.
Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP certificate preferred.
