Job Description

The Production Planning Manager will direct and manage activities of the site as it pertains to production planning impacting the manufacturing facility. Champion the reliability journey for the sites. Responsibilities also include reviewing and developing any corrective actions stemming from Performance Metrics. The manager works with planners and value stream managers to create a realistic plan while meeting business and financial objectives.

Job Duties

  • Manage capacity planning requirements for the plant including business supply needs, new production pipeline volume builds and other plant project work.

  • Manage the plan and prepare production schedules for manufacturing through production planners, develop and implement production planning policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures. • Connect with Demand Planning and Supply Planning to ensure seamless flow of information and fully integrated approach to delivering key metrics – On time delivery, Inventory, DOH, Earned Hours and managing backorder recovery and communication.

  • Partner with Raw material manager to drive Supplier performance improvement including quality and on-time delivery.

  • Partner with Supply Network Planning to balance supply and demand, and bring transparency of risks, supply constraints, and opportunities to the S&OP process. Participate in S&OP forums as applicable.

  • Responsible for short term (1-3 months) and medium-term (4-12 months) capacity planning.

  • Manage production planning and set clear performance standards to hold people accountable for results, deliver customer service goals, optimize inventory investments, and production requirements, safety stock targets, and non-conformance / quality improvement goals, build cross-functional and cross-departmental support, fostering overall group effectiveness.

  • Responsible for meeting inventory targets, earned hours, backorders and end customer OTD metrics.

  • Coach and guide teams / individuals to mine data from appropriate systems and able to carry out complex analysis for ad-hoc business requests.

  • Manage regional to deliver continuous improvement in KPI’s.

  • Develop, coach and guide team of planners and team leads in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals, advances succession planning by holding career conversations with staff.

  • Provide clear leadership for all site team.

  • Support repair centers across the US.

  • Provide data for financial quarterly budgeting process, Inventory and Earned Hours

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* University bachelor’s degree or equivalent. MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of year of supply chain experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Green Belt Six Sigma Certifications & Supply Chain Certification (APICS/ IBF) desirable.

  • Experience with ERP (Oracle and Oracle Cloud & Advanced Planning Systems is desirable).

  • Ability to develop, coach and lead a team of planners and team leads in the execution, strategies, and realization of departmental and company goals.

  • Ability to coach & develop accountable, diverse, and global leaders who inspire and motivate others.

  • Ability to build collaborative teams and relationships, leading cross functional/ virtual teams where required.

*Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms.

  • The ability to influence Manager & Director Levels within the organization and in a matrix environment.

  • Ability to drive & apply continuous process improvement tools and improvements to large and complex projects.

  • Working knowledge of financial processes.

  • Organization skills and an aptitude for planning with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.

  • Proficient user of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
