NORESCO’s Energy Infrastructure (EI) group has an opening for an Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Technician in southern New England. The EI group specializes in managing, operating, and maintaining various energy projects throughout the US and overseas. These projects incorporate steam generation, cogeneration, combined cycle and simple cycle technologies and vary in size between 500kW and 40MW of electric generation.


NORESCO’s EI Group is responsible for Operations & Maintenance at central energy plants under service contracts with NORESCO.

We have an immediate need for m EI O&M Technician.

Here’s a look at the responsibilities for this position:

  • Monitor maintenance and operations by plant staff per contractual obligations

  • Provide advice and direction to plant management and staff to support safe and efficient operations in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and industry standards. Equipment will include but not be limited to (gas turbines, reciprocating engines, gas compressors, feedwater and condensate systems, water purification and treatment systems, chilled water systems, deaerators, switchgear and motor control centers, continuous emissions monitoring systems, PLCs, and instrumentation).

  • Work with OEM on maintenance and warranty issues.

  • Inspect and repair equipment per contractual obligations.

  • Provide advice and suggestions so that plant operating equipment and the premises are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Inspect the records of all readings and logs to ensure proper operation of all plant equipment.

  • Provide oversight and advice for the installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, electronic and pneumatic equipment including metering, instrumentation and controls.

  • Maintain records on equipment as required.

  • Report all unusual, improper or unsafe conditions to the direct supervisor.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Assist other Plant Managers in tasks as requested by direct supervisor.

  • Work with the construction team at new central plant facilities to facilitate commissioning.

  • Perform other tasks as directed by management. Follow all policies and procedures.

  • Be available to work overtime as needed as well as be available to work on an on call.

  • Must be able to travel to remote sites as needed.

The following skills and attributes are preferred for this position:

  • Ten Years of related experience in the cogeneration and steam production or equivalent.

  • Experience performing preventive maintenance tasks on at least the following equipment: Gas turbine and associated equipment, Pumps, Motors, Controls, HRSG and support equipment.

  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution abilities.

  • Excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude.

  • Mental alertness and ability to concentrate with distractions nearby.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb and crawl.

  • This position requires working in diverse locations and conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms where there can be potential exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and proximity to electricity including high voltage. Detailed safety review must be completed and reviewed prior to any work. Adherence to all Safety Procedures will be required.

  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling bending climbing and crawling.

  • Potential exists for requirement of employee to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.
