SKILLED LABORER-CMD Grade 4 \$21.34/hr Position is responsible for performing skilled manual labor at the journeyman level in connection with central maintenance applications and projects; does related work as required. Examples of Duties Performs journeyman level carpentry and masonry duties Receives work assignments from supervisor in the form of work orders, plans or verbal instructions. Determines from these orders type and amount of material required and the method to be used in accomplishing the work. Operates light duty to heavy duty equipment (depending on the class of operator?s license) for day to day operations and snow removal. Performs grounds maintenance duties: plants, seeds, rakes, fertilizes and grades, cuts, waters and trims fields and park areas Performs skilled mechanical repair of power motors, tractors, and other equipment Constructs and repairs chain link fences, benches, grandstands, playground apparatus such as see-saws, slides and swings Performs other general duties such as painting, flooding skating areas, trimming trees and bushes, setting up and lining athletic fields, operating motor equipment in connection with such duties and other related manual duties. Knowledge in sharpening mower blade by hand or mechanically. Qualifications Work requires high school graduation or equivalent plus two years experience in the same or a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience required to perform the essential functions of this position. Special Requirements: Valid Driver\'s license Knowledge, Abilities and Skill: Knowledge of mechanical operations diagnose equipment and facility maintenance programs Ability to problem solve, diagnose and or correct problems that may occur before, during and after a project. And to effectively communicate such issues to the crew and also the supervisor in a timely manner.
