POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Digital Organization is responsible for omni-channel growth in Health Care and focused on Digital first strategy across all CVS Health business units. CVS Digital IT is embarking on a journey to modernize the Fulfillment applications and migrate to Enterprise grade Cloud Systems using Open sources technologies – Spring Reactive, Kotlin, Kafka, Caching, Postgres. As part of this journey, we are looking for SMEs who have extensive knowledge implementing these solutions. The Lead Engineer - Inventory & Fulfillment will be a hands-on, individual contributor working on cutting-edge applications and products. You will brainstorm with architects, product managers, data scientists and fellow engineers to build data products used improve the health outcomes of millions of people. The right candidate will be a strong Analytical thinker and be able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be a hands-on, individual contributor working on cutting-edge Fulfillment modernization and products.

  • Design and develop cloud scalable services in a containerized and CI/CD environment.

  • The right candidate will be a strong analytical and strategic thinker and be able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically.

  • Expertise at mentoring/guiding team members

  • Helping drive development decisions.

  • Assisting with architecture design decisions.

  • A knack for pushing projects from conception to customers.

  • Articulate the true total value of each technical solution and the overall business outcome.

  • In the pre-planning process, responsible for reviewing features and epics with product team and providing feedback through continuous refinement.

  • Will additionally provide collaboration/contribution on architecture, runway items and technical artifacts.

  • Implement Circuit Breakers and Service Discovery patterns for the Microservices and ensure that patterns are stringently followed for every integration inbound to/outbound from Microservices.

  • Design and implement real-time Streaming of data from No-SQL/SQL databases to analytics.

  • Provide knowledge and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, and maintain close oversight of technical execution.

  • Work closely with Platform teams when introducing new tools and technologies into development and CI/CD practices.

  • Work with Product and UX teams to be part of a team of engineers in developing elegant code, state-of-the-art customer experiences and build industry leading digital experiences.

  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and establish communication across all team and Product Owners

  • Participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning, Grooming, Daily Scrum, Review and Retro

  • Unit testing using framework such as Junit, Mockito, JBehave.

  • Continuously monitoring application health and KPIs, support triage of any production issues as and when needed

  • Collaborate in troubleshooting complex data, features, service, platform issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of overall IT/Digital development experience

  • 5+ years of Retail / ECommerce domain experience with at least 2+ years specifically working with Order or Inventory Management applications

  • 3+ years of hands-on development experience using Spring Reactive systems, NoSQL/SQL databases, Kafka, Redis/Hazelcast, etc.

  • 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies having a track record developing in AWS or GCP or Azure or similar public cloud environments

  • 2+ years of experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exposure to service mesh platform, such as Istio, Consul, Kuma, etc

  • Big Data expertise with cloud and enterprise level design/implementation

  • Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Harness

  • Experience working with large-scale data warehouse systems like Big query, Snowflake, Redshift etc.

  • Experience with Cassandra and Postgres

  • Experience in handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; thrives working in a highly iterative, agile, and open team environment

  • Good understanding and working experience in IT Security best practices and other compliance standards such as ADA, HIPAA, PCI DSS

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree from accredited University or equivalent years of experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$120,750.00 - $240,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
