Job Summary

As a member of the Brand, Advertising & Communications team, serve as a communications resource for the development of marketing materials in support of MAPFRE’s Agent and Distributor audience. This includes developing written content, along with copyediting and proofing, for a variety of channels; managing the full lifecycle of email marketing campaigns, which encompasses audience list management, the development of email content in an ESP platform, and distributing and providing reporting for email campaigns; event management; and the production of marketing materials. Serve as a key point of contact with business areas, including leadership, for marketing-related services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.

Experience: 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.

Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Applies them to perform or lead work requiring extensive analytical business skills.

Supervision Received: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments

Leadership: Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed. Takes a lead role in group, team or project.

Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to determine solutions to complex problems with minimal direction. Uses research and analysis to develop innovative and practical solutions which are consistent with organizational objectives.

Decision Making: Makes decisions using broad management limits. Applies guidelines and procedures that leave considerable room for discretion and interpretation. Decisions directly influence project, client relationships and/or expenditures. Additionally, decisions exert some influence on organization's long-range goals and objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignments.

Client Contacts: Manages internal and external relationships. Represents organization as prime contact for projects and other necessary communications. Interaction may include senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring complex coordination between organizations. Communication involves persuasion and negotiation, as applicable. Seeks ways of improving client service.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Communications / Marketing field preferred.

Experience with traditional and digital media including email marketing and communications, advertising and social media strategy.

Understanding of spot media planning including broadcast, print and outdoor.

Must be able to handle multiple, concurrent projects successfully in a fast paced environment and be an adept project manager delivering against timelines.

Ability to understand consumer research and apply research during the creative development process.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Exercises independent thinking skills.

Ability to work independently.

Project management skills.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to audiences via virtual channels, along with in person meetings.

Ability to work in a collaborative structure that includes immediate teammates along with other members of the business.

Ability to work with internal and external clients across geographical locations.

Ability to adapt to unplanned events that rely on a marketing communications deliverable.

Complete understanding of Marketing Industry Best Practices

Able to take and apply constructive feedback.
