Reporting to the SVP of IT Infrastructure, the Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for defining and executing the company's overall infrastructure strategy. With the overarching goal of driving infrastructure costs down and raising operational excellence, and the constraints of a hybrid environment with both legacy and modern applications, on-prem and in the cloud, this Director will lead the technical teams (both in-house and vendor) by providing a vision and a strategy to execute on it.
This Director will also drive alignment with application teams and the overall business goals and provide managerial direction to the technical teams through all aspects of infrastructure deployment and maintenance (including aspects such as security, resilience, and compliance), directing the research on technical solutions and developing staff to ensure that the infrastructure needs of the company are appropriately met.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelorʹs Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred
Experience: 9‐11 yearsor Masterʹs Degree equivalent plus 7‐9 years.
Experience with cloud infrastructure management, cloud migrations and strong understanding of infrastructure as code (AWS-specific knowledge is desirable)
Solid knowledge of network and security technologies, including those used in cloud environments
Understanding of backup and disaster recovery technologies and strategies
Understanding of cloud-native resilience patterns
General understanding of virtualization technologies
Experience with IBM Power (880, 980, P10) platforms preferred
Experience with application servers such as Apache Tomcat, WebSphere is desirable

Deep knowledge and understanding of IT controls and frameworks, standards, project development and management methods, compliance and onboarding/offboarding procedures.
Demonstrates a passion for the business of IT and insurance and understands the power of technology to transform business.
Built, communicated and utilized organizational change procedures to mature and rollout new IT processes and systems within an organization.
Track operational metrics and measured success against those metrics, especially IT expense
Experience managing hybrid working environments across multiple offices and facilities and building and managing internal and external teams.
Experience of P&C insurance market products and leading the implementation of large programs
Strong executive presence, prepare executive content and deliver them
Develop and run strong governance process to manage portfolio
