The role of the Accounting Summer Intern is to maintain accurate accounting records. This individual will assist in day-to-day operations including the month end close process, internal controls, recording cash activities and provide practical guidance in support of strategic initiatives. This position reports to the Corporate Controller.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Individual responsibilities

  • Assist in Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance commentary on the entity analytical report.

  • Support internal and external financial audits

  • Recording and reconciling cash activities

  • Assist with the fixed asset accounting process

  • Actively participates in system and process improvements, including documenting policies and procedures.

  • Assist in accounting department projects such as record retention, new system implementation, etc.

  • Other AD HOC projects, as assigned

Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Team player and self-starter with the ability to act independently as well as collaboratively across the business and with all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent workload prioritization, resource management, and project management skills.

  • Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient.

  • Proven ability to work with professional discretion and confidential information.

  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills required

  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Level of Education Required: Obtaining Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
