Job Overview

The Senior Manager Procurement Operations is responsible for the team delivering operational support for the Strategic Procurement Team, including Direct Procurement, Indirect Procurement, and Green Coffee Procurement. This team works cross-functionally and resolves direct material supply issues and quality claims for suppliers of assigned manufacturing sites, ensures the timely creation of indirect purchase orders, clearance of match exceptions, and adherence with supplier contracts and company policies related to Purchasing. Additionally, provides support and expertise for the maintenance of SAP and SAP Ariba vendor information records, source lists, and vendor setups and reporting requirements. This role works within the guidelines and rules of Finance and Procurement to maintain fiscal standards, and creates training materials and participates in the training of new buyers and requisitioners as requested.

What you will do:

  • Manage a Procurement Operations Team.

  • Create and maintain process documentation of the operational procurement function- communicate changes effectively to the organization and ensure team is trained in all up-to-date practices.

  • Resolve supplier related supply issues to KPD plants, quality claims, and slow and obsolete inventory issues.

  • Track and report out on team performance against established KPIs.

  • Report on team and supplier performance (ie supplier scorecards), identify root causes of any issues, and create CIPs to address shortfalls. Provide narrative analysis for all reporting.

  • Facilitate effective communication of status of orders to suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Research best practices for operational procurement and bring this research to the team, recommending actions to improve performance

  • Create process and procedure and train team members on these procedures.

  • Actively participates in the management of suppliers through Keurig’s Supplier Performance Management program.

  • Prepares indirect purchase orders, acquires approvals (expenditure and legal), approves invoices and monitors service receipts in accordance with Keurig Dr. Pepper’s policy and process, in support of team as needed Ensures that all match exceptions are resolved in a timely fashion allowing for prompt payments to supplier partners.

  • Follow all Keurig policies and procedures.

Characteristics for Success:

  • Demonstrated success in managing vendor relations and some negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work with multiple departments and to determine and interpret business needs and to translate those needs into an effective action plan.

  • Proven ability to interact with management at all levels and to participate in setting strategic direction for the procurement team.

  • Strong understanding of key cost drivers and their influence on the pricing of the various buying categories

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet challenging deadlines, lead a team of professionals and solve problems, both quantitative and qualitative.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college / university

  • 6 years’ experience as a buyer in a commercial setting, with prior experience dealing with both goods and service providers, as well as service contracts

  • 2 years as a supervisor or manager

  • Prior experience working with SAP and SAP Ariba or a similar ERP system
