Position Summary:

The Material Planner uses best practices for inventory utilization and manufacturing efficiency and coordinates the short to medium term planning horizon for their assigned products. This position creates and issues work orders to feed the manufacturing schedule as well as strategically creating work orders for finished goods for fast movers to build inventory health to improve customer experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creation of strategic repacks entering production using accurate quantity determination, utilizing FIFO, ROP, workstream and balancing shelf capacity constraints for fastest movers

  • Creation of repack orders based on queue spurred by real time sales orders. Perform individual analysis and make informed decision to repack or redirect requirement to Purchasing

  • Collaborates with Purchasing and C&B for inventory utilization and need to buy more raw material to support production (repackaging into finished goods), accurately converting inventory of disparate units to selling unit equivalents to support ease of repack conversions

  • Backup for Schedule refresh and work organization/distribution to two warehouses

  • Tracking work orders through the workstream and performing audits of scanning status

  • Supplements monitoring and reconciling aging/missing/stalled repacks to drive mobile scan and schedule adherence

  • Supports and drives needed master data capture for components and workstream gaps in schedule with Repack Dept

  • Proactively works with production to expedite production requests as required and communicate any delays that will impact production requirements.

  • Coordinates departmental training documentation and collaborates with Quality control on formalization of standard operating procedures

  • Generates reports, metrics and provides actionable analyses as needed

  • Participates or leads in continuous improvement activities using PPI

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school degree w/ 3 years of manufacturing/planning experience- Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Proficient in advanced Excel and willingness to learn additional Excel functionality to boost productivity

  • Data analytical skills

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues from different departments and different professional levels with ease

  • Strong math skills to perform conversions and optimizing repack quantities (economic batch quantities)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced with a MRP system such as SAP, Oracle, AS400, etc.
