How will you make an impact?
The Sr. Manager, Leadership and Critical Talent Development will have direct impact on the Thermo Fisher Talent Strategy by leading global development programs and solutions focused on building an internal pipeline of Talent to fill roles identified by Executive Leadership as critical to the growth and success of Thermo Fisher.
As part of the Global Talent Development Team, this individual will lead and support company flagship programs designed to develop global leaders in critical roles and prepare pipeline talent to move into those roles. The Sr. Manager will partner with Executive's to identify skill gaps and development needed by current and future leaders to drive business results in a continually evolving environment. This role will also engage in digital learning transformation efforts to ensure the delivery of leadership development experiences that are scalable and meet the needs of our global Talent.
What will you do?
Consult and collaborate with Executive Leadership and their team members to assess and identify the broad and unique leadership skills needed for global leadership roles in key business areas, aligned with business strategy.
Scope, design and manage high quality and impactful learning content that supports our rapidly changing and growing organization.
Coordinate and partner with leadership and subject matter experts in the design and delivery of program content.
Identify, design and execute new learning solutions and development pathways to include leveraging digital learning capabilities to ensure scalable and accessible global programs.
Analyze and select effective delivery modalities based on topic, audience and intended outcomes. Evolve existing content to ensure that it remains relevant to our business and leadership needs.
Lead the annual launch of global programs by working with regional partners, such as Group Talent Partners, HRBPs and Business Leaders, to select high-potential and diverse program nominees and ensure a well-executed nomination process that is consistent across regions/countries.
Seamlessly organize and lead series of program learning modules throughout the year by creating and driving communications that engage, inform and instruct participants, Executive Leadership, subject matter experts, vendors and the HR community.
Utilize data collection methods, analysis and target metrics to evaluate effectiveness of programs and learning solutions to drive program improvements and strategic talent results (or to meet current and future business needs).
Manage vendor relationships to design and deliver world-class programs, develop scope of work and negotiate costs.
Facilitate some program content.
Play a key role on the Talent Platform, partnering across the platform to meet the strategic Talent needs of the business.
How will you get here?
7+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent management and/or organizational development, or a combination of all three to include HR generalist, within large global organizations
Project Management experience working across multiple organizations both up and across the matrix
Outstanding facilitation, presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills; ability to communicate and influence across the organization to include Executive Leadership; ability to prepare communication materials for both presentations and email delivery
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Some aptitude and experience working with data to leverage metrics and analytics
Demonstrated ability to apply sound learning principles, agile methods, learning technology and program management skills together in the design, development and maintenance of learning programs
Prior experience developing management and leadership program content for a global audience
Vendor management experience
Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain internal and external relationships
Ability to recognize patterns and trends in business, data, content and customer needs that will drive program design and delivery
Outstanding organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to scope, plan and lead multiple complex learning projects and manage stakeholders
High level of comfort working with a variety of systems, such HR and Learning Management Systems, Learning Experience Platforms, virtual classroom technology and 3rd party learning applications. Fluency with MS Office, especially MS Teams, PowerPoint and Excel.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited higher learning institution
