How you will make an impact:

Laboratory Products Equipment (LPE) is a $700M+ business within the Laboratory Products Group (LPG), which offers a broad set of differentiated consumable products primarily serving Biotech, Pharma, Healthcare, Diagnostic and Academic markets. LPE is a global business with 4,000 employees, 8 manufacturing sites and numerous distribution hubs, supported by a global finance team. The business has significant exposure to high growth markets and is focused on providing fit for purpose solutions to our customers!

Seeking a Finance leader who will drive financial insights and accountability for the $250M Liquid Handling Solutions (LHS) business. This role has overall stewardship of the financial scorecard inclusive of LHS business segment P&L in partnership with the Senior Finance Director of LPE and the VP/ GM of the LHS business. This role is expected to identify and drive profitable growth opportunities through the levers of portfolio segmentation, gross margin, OPEX management and CAPEX for the LHS businesses.

What you will do:

  • Partner with VP/GM LHS business in driving margin expansion through more profitable product mix and accretive revenue growth

  • Partner with functional leaders on investments, spend analysis, forecasting and planning

  • Continue to innovate and evolve business reporting providing insight to LPE leadership and the LHS segment teams supporting profitable revenue growth

  • Partner with R&D and PMO leadership on project/investment prioritization ensuring alignment with strategic priorities

  • Drive AOP/QBR/STRAP/financial forecast in a matrixed organization, ensure financial decisions support company's STRAP/AOP and current market environment

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Improve insight to Gross Margin and EBITA expansion for total LHS in partnership with the manufacturing and commercial entities. Support EBITA bridging activities, identify profitability improvement opportunities, and challenge the teams on bridge as well as outlook assumptions

  • Leverage core reporting & analytics: weekly bookings, sales & backlog reporting, weekly Bowler, SAC reporting, monthly standard margin analysis, segment P&L reporting to drive thought partnership with LHS leader

  • Lead AOP/STRAP process for LHS business by coordinating with regional commercial teams and Operations to ensure alignment and achievement of financial targets

  • Partner with the Operations Finance teams to explain and forecast Gross Margin for the LHS Segment P&L

  • Align with commercial and business teams on pricing strategies to drive profitable growth

  • Lead the completion of the monthly/quarterly business review deck for the LHS business

  • Partner with LPE FP&A team to forecast and drive target alignment with regional commercial teams on revenue and bookings

  • Implement Hyperion PLN 2.0 forecasting processes aligned with Division and Group results

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required

  • An MBA or CPA is desired

Experience:

  • An ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and a strong proficiency in financial analysis

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment preferred!

  • Experience in the Life Sciences industry is desired

  • Strong expertise of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), Hyperion (CMR, HFM), PowerBI, Cognos (equivalent) and PowerPoint preferred

  • 5 plus year in finance

  • Possess strong leadership and team building skills

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Self-motivated with high bias for action and accountability

  • High level of energy; can bring a passion to excel. Able to energize and influence a wide spectrum of people, including senior financial and operations professionals

  • Ability to balance priorities and thrive in a sophisticated global business environment

  • Drives a culture of accountability

  • Candidate should expect travel of 5%-10%

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $118,100.00–$177,200.00.
