Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Financial Analyst - Corporate FP&A - Join a $35B Industry Leader! in Waltham, Massachusetts
We seek an enthusiastic Finance professional with excellent analysis and communication skills to join the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team supporting the Chief Financial Officer’s (CFO) Office and business leadership to help them achieve their financial commitments. The Financial Analyst will be a key member of the business team supporting reporting activities, including trend analysis and monthly reporting and forecasting for total company down to Earnings Per Share (EPS).
In this role the Financial Analyst will own and drive value-added analytics for weekly, monthly and quarterly results and outlook to support Company Leadership Team (CLT), CEO Leadership Summits, Earnings Call and Investor Analysts Meetings. Being part of a team where collaboration is key, you will get a clear understanding of the total company structure (products and divisional relationships), full Corporate FP&A reporting requirements to support the CFO office, and reporting to our investors.
Perform reporting & analytics related to the following actual and forecasted financial areas: Revenue, EBITA, EBITA Growth, EPS impact analysis
Provide guidance and technical support to the Group/Division FP&A teams for monthly forecasts and quarter end Flash process
Provide reporting and analytics that go into the Earnings release package and review the reporting of your other team members
Weekly reporting of FX impact on the full year outlook to the CFO
Provide recommendations to enhance the current reporting tools. Work on automation and productivity initiatives related to financial reporting and data harmonization.
Develop reporting solutions that ‘raise the bar’ in terms of analytical insight and user experience
Provide support for acquisition integration activities
Partner with the Financial Systems and Consolidations team to increase the utilization of CMR/PLN in all Corporate FP&A reports limiting the need of manual consolidations
Other Ad Hoc analyses as required involving foreign exchange, tax, acquisitions/divestitures, Balance Sheet and Income Statement line item analysis.
Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required
5+ years relevant work experience in a finance role within an operating business
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, MIS or related fields
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate and articulate business impact in financial terms
Strong Excel and modeling skills. Be willing to learn programming languages (e.g. DAX, Python, MDX, VBA) and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) to transform financial data and analysis
Strong skills and working knowledge of HFM / CMR / PLN or equivalent financial program
Strong communication skills with ability to work with key members of the corporate executive team and the finance leadership team
Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. Exceptional customer focus
