GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY

The Sr. Director of Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing is part of the Global Operations in our Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG). POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing will be a strategic leader, responsible for three global functions: Operations Strategy Team, Project Management Office (PMO) and Transformative Technologies. These collective functions will partner with the Vice President of Operations in executing their long-term strategy, transformation and technology roadmaps.

This leadership role is responsible for the Life Sciences Manufacturing Technologies and Business Strategy as it relates to existing and future global footprint strategy, including the integration and merger or acquisition activity. It will drive simplification of the network and own the implementation of strategies to realize the Group and Divisions STRAPs.

This position is the bridge between innovative ideas and production-ready advanced technology to manufacture parts we couldn't before, enable speed to market, provide seamless entry into production and transform the way we work.

This role will interact with the Vice Presidents of Operations, Functional Leaders, Quality, Supply Chain, Technology and Real Estate Partners on a global scale and will lead a team of strategy and engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the partnership with the VP of Ops and their Leadership teams to build and execute a group and divisional strategy that leads to true footprint simplification reducing total cost of delivery to customers

  • Act as a leader with vision in the area of new technologies, bringing market leading or innovative technologies to the sites, based on a deep analysis of the current group site, division and business unit technologies and have the team develop detailed roadmap for technology transformation

  • Leadership direction and strategy for the transformative technologies teams supporting the critical business enablement projects and strategies, covering all group sites, divisions and business units

  • Drive and lead the Operations Strategy leaders and PMO in developing and deploying business strategies, including any due diligence related to M & A activity.

  • Build a long range, group level capacity planning function which partners and supports the divisions in all sites. This may include a direct partnership with functional groups like Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Real Estate, to enable the operations strategies.

  • Create standard work in the Transformative Technologies and PMO teams to gain alignment with key stakeholders inclusive of group, division business and operations management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Master's in Business Administration.

  • At least 10 years' experience in an operations and/or engineering function with a focus on implementing new manufacturing technologies or processes

  • Preferred experience with new equipment design and site expansion

  • Management and supervisory experience leading engineers and professional project management staff is preferred

  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, taking thought to detailed and measurable roadmap

  • Senior Leader interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization globally

  • Ability to look enterprise-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit

  • Passion for driving improvement and leading change in a complex, global environment

  • Financial literacy sufficient to understand financial statements, budgets, materials, labor and overhead productivity

  • Ability to travel
