Siemens Digital Industries Software Software Engineer, Circuit Analysis (Hybrid) in Waltham, Massachusetts

Job Family: Research & Development

Req ID: 402282

Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation, providing software solutions that help engineers around the world design and manufacture new and highly innovative electronic products. Each year, our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology in order to deliver smaller, faster and more reliable products that run the world’s high-tech devices.

Position Overview

We are looking for a software engineer with a degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering to join a new section of the Calibre product software development team. This team is focused on tools used in the early stages of transistor level IC design, and the ideal engineer will have a strong background in both software and electronic circuit technologies.

You will be responsible for the design, development, and support of software that checks circuit designs for reliability faults. Most of the software is directly linked to transistor level IC modeling from a behavioral perspective. There are opportunities to leverage multiple technologies, such as transistor level simulation, AI in both circuit recognition and human interaction, multi-thread / multi-core support, and more. You will contribute to a product that is used daily by circuit engineers as end users. You will be part of a group of senior software engineers working on new components and algorithms, and you will also be supporting components in a complex, pre-existing code base.

You will collaborate with product management, quality assurance, technical publications, and customer support to deliver high-quality products on schedule. You will participate in scheduling and estimation of tasks and assist in defining and developing software development best practices. Self-motivation, the desire to take ownership and responsibility, and a positive can-do attitude will contribute to your success in this role.

Job Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following combination of education and experience:

• BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proven record of inventive thinking.

• Experience in developing high-performance data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development in C and C++ in Linux.

Knowledge in the following areas is desired:

• Transistor level circuit principles, SPICE simulation, and general circuit theory.

• Analog or system level aspects of IC architecture.

• Applications of AI, machine learning, relevant to electronic circuits.

• Multi-threaded, multi-processor and distributed computing.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail.
