This position is located at our research and development facility in Waltham, Massachusetts. Bosch's Waltham facility is made up of 25 engineers, test and measurement laboratories, and a prototype shop, all working on advanced development projects for multiple product areas within the Bosch Group. Key areas include mechanical design, air-moving technologies, electric motors, noise and vibration, heat transfer, material testing, manufacturing processes, and application support.
Job Description
Robert Bosch LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the development team for Thermal Systems products in our Waltham engineering center. The preferred candidate will bring advanced knowledge of fluid dynamics design, analysis, acoustics, and experimental techniques to advance the state of the art in efficient, low noise air and fluid moving products for motor vehicles and other applications. Engineers are involved in all aspects of new technology development, from exploring basic physical phenomena and creating design tools & methods, to generating new product innovations in support of our global application teams.
Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree in mechanical, aeronautical, ocean engineering or related field
Minimum 3 years in industry or academic setting related to design and analysis of fluid moving devices or turbomachinery, including relevant experimental experience.
Preferred:
PhD in mechanical, aeronautical, ocean engineering
Experience in the following areas:
Design, simulation, and analysis of fluid moving devices: fans, blowers, pumps, wind turbines, airfoils, propellers, or rotorcraft
Acoustics, aeroacoustics, hydroacoustics, structural noise & vibration, psychoacoustics
Experimental techniques and hands-on measurement experience in fluid flow, noise, and vibration
Application and development of fluids design & simulation tools, including CFD and potential flow based methods
Familiarity with CAD design tools, structural CAE simulation, and programming (FORTRAN and/or C++ preferred)
Candidates must be able to demonstrate thorough understanding of engineering fundamentals. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
