About the Opportunity

As an experienced mRNA Scientist, you will develop novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations for mRNA delivery.

Key Responsibilities for the Position:

In this role you will:

  • Lead formulation development of mRNA drug targets entailing: LNP formulations for in vitro/in vivo studies

  • Evaluate novel ideas for formulation optimization and increasing stability of formulations

  • Develop novel formulations and explore new processes for formulation design

  • Work closely and build relationships with select CROs with focus on in vivo studies, drug carrier design/development, assay development

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clear communication of scientific findings across interdisciplinary teams

  • Promote innovation, state of the art technologies and propose strategies using publications to improve the products.

  • Make scientific presentations and report project progress within mRNA CoE Formulation teams and with partners and in international forums.

Competencies / Requirements for Position

  • PhD in Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Pharmaceutical Sciences

  • 0 - 6 years of relevant experience in nucleic acid delivery with hands-on experience in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations & characterization

  • Demonstrated success in nucleic acid delivery and the development of novel drug carriers with hands-on

  • Experience in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations, polymer-based nanoparticles & characterization

  • Direct experience with messenger RNA encapsulation/quantification/characterization/handling is preferred

  • Proficiency in analytical techniques like HPLC/UPLC, DLS, CD, zeta potential, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometry etc. is preferred

  • Understanding and success in implementation of RNA-related analytics (Ribogreen, gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, etc.) is desired

  • Experience in developing LNP formulations for Gene/ cell immunotherapy would be advantageous

  • Works collaboratively within group as well as within interdisciplinary teams

  • Manages time effectively demonstrating ability to perform multiple projects at one time

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
