Manager, Business Development Operations

*We are looking to fill this role in one of our office locations in Bethesda, Waltham or London

We are currently recruiting for a Manager, Business Development Operations to join our Commercial Operations team! This is a great opportunity to join an established, collaborative and motivated group tasked with expanding Evidera’s business opportunities, driving growth and adding value throughout the sales process and across the organization.

Position Summary

The Manager, Business Development Operations will support management, research and business development staff in identifying and pursuing opportunities for new client leads and incremental sales across all of the Evidera business units.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and assist with implementation of account plans across a number of client accounts to assist with meeting sales goals. This includes client-facing activities such as interaction with client contacts (e.g., responding to requests, understanding their needs, clarifying questions, identifying opportunities etc.) and participation in client meetings via a close working relationship with the Business Development Directors and Business Unit points of contact as appropriate.

  • Provide proposal preparation support to scientific and consulting staff to drive successful responses to RFPs, including preparation of materials for proposal review meetings, coordination of updated experience summaries, and information around Evidera capabilities, therapeutic area background, and other related information.

  • Work closely with scientific staff to manage the proposal development process for multi-practice area projects including obtaining support materials, reviews and approvals, ensuring the proposal deadline is met on time and development of some proposal text. This work also includes triaging RFPs to identify cross-business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the business development team, management, research staff, PPD and other groups as appropriate to prepare responses to client initiated “Requests for Information”, and assist with negotiations of Master Service Agreements, pricing, project contracts, etc.

  • Research, compile and prepare information on selected clients, products, Evidera competitors, and/or industry trends to support business development activities including new leads and project opportunities.

  • Support Evidera’s presence at industry meetings (e.g., ISPOR, ICPE, etc.) as needed to provide business development coverage in the Evidera booth or other activities.

  • Deliver internal presentations to senior leadership around client or opportunity information and insights captured through prior analyses.

  • Other duties commensurate with the full functioning of an effective BD group.

Minimum Education Level/Years of Experience

  • BS or BA degree, or equivalent experience required; advanced degree such as MA, MS or MBA a plus.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the life sciences, biopharma, medical device, contract research or consulting industries.

Computer programming or software skills required for position

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SalesForce and SharePoint are highly desirable.

Specific skills or knowledge required for position

  • Research and/or consulting experience in life sciences. Experience in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, real-world data analytics / collection, and/or market access is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrates experience in financial and/or sales data analytics and use of SalesForce.com.

  • Ability to interact with a wide range of internal and external research, consultant, business and industry stakeholders across multiple priorities is required.

  • Well-developed communication and writing skills. Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze historical data and market trends to identify client targets.

  • Demonstrates responsibility for account management, account planning and sales across a limited number of client accounts.

  • Collaborative team member, capable of efficient multi-tasking .

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to a range of stakeholders.
