Alloy Therapeutics Head of Strategic Marketing & Product Management in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Company

We are Alloy Therapeutics—a biotechnology ecosystem company empowering the global scientific community to make better medicines together. Through a community of partners, we democratize access to pre-competitive tools, technologies, services, and company creation capabilities that are foundational for discovering and developing therapeutic biologics. The company facilitates affordable, non-exclusive access to the entire drug discovery community from academic scientists, small and medium biotech, to the largest biopharma. At Alloy, we believe our industry should compete on getting the best drugs to patients as quickly as possible, not exclusive access to the best platforms. As a reflection of our relentless commitment to the scientific community, we reinvest 100% of our revenue in innovation and access to innovation. MAY THE BEST DRUG WIN.

Alloy is headquartered in Waltham, MA with additional labs in Cambridge, UK; Basel, CH; and Athens, GA and 82VS portfolio companies in Boston, San Franciso, Dallas and Oklahoma City. Successful members thrive in our shared culture of accountability, deliberate trust, and open communication. As a team we aspire to work together to exceed expectations and collectively contribute across the global organization to always maintain our nimble, startup culture.

This is an on-site and full-time position with flexibility to work from home. At Alloy, we have an ethos of “Mentorship-By-Apprenticeship” in all of our positions. We strive to have workers in the office when needed to interact organically and face-to-face. Of course, as a lab-based operation, our cells and animals grow 7 days a week, 365 days per year. We respect and value our colleagues for their hard work that requires them to be in the lab every day. We ask our people who have more flexible accommodations, like this position, to appreciate their colleagues who have less flexibility. We are all one team!

The Role

In leading the product management and strategic marketing function, you will own all aspects of transforming Alloy’s portfolio of cutting-edge drug discovery technologies and services into highly differentiated product offers for current and future partners interested in making medicines that change patient lives.

Upstream, you will use market data and analytics to understand the market demands of Alloy partners and the current discovery landscape. Downstream, you will position Alloy’s products in the market such that they will stand apart from competitors, developing targeted business growth, segmentation, and marketing strategy.  You will work cross-functionally with the R&D organization and Business Development to design Alloy’s product strategy and oversee execution against  this strategy. This role requires an ability to communicate the range and sophistication of Alloy’s drug discovery and platform offerings into clear, digestible, compelling materials. This role will report directly into the Chief Scientific Officer with daily interactions with our CEO and all our Business Unit heads. You will have autonomy owning various stakeholders, projects, and tasks in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy.

How You’ll Drive Impact

  • Lead: product creation and strategic marketing at Alloy and translate one of the most exciting portfolios of drug discovery technologies into industry leading commercial offerings that deliver transformative medicines to our partners and patients.

  • Build: the product marketing and management function at Alloy including our strategy, KPIs, processes, relationships, vendors and a lean, efficient team.

  • Partner: closely with Business Development, R&D and our affiliated venture studio, 82VS, to guide decisions on the development of the product roadmap, using market data and analysis to ensure the success of eventual product launches.

  • Drive: the entire downstream process of launching Alloy’ products, including print and digital marketing campaigns, social media coordination and materials creation, from ideation, scientific input, data packaging, slide creation, and executive review and approval.

Why We Value You

  • You have a track record of success in launching new, products and services and achieving excellent business results; you have developed and implemented marketing and go-to-market/commercialization strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives.

  • You have exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams across scientific R&D and sales organizations towards achieving shared goals.

  • You are a strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating complex market dynamics and making data-driven decisions.

  • You possess scientific understanding, particularly in biologics drug discovery, vital for steering product strategy in a science-driven marketplace.

  • You are independent, driven, and with a passion for innovation, possessing the creativity and resilience needed to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • You are an effective communicator, skilled in conveying complex ideas through compelling narratives and visual materials, complemented by your proficiency in tools like PowerPoint and the Adobe suite.

Desired Multipliers

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in marketing, product management and strategic marketing roles with some experience specifically in the biotech and life sciences industry, preferably from the commercial products/services sectors with progressively increasing leadership roles.

  • You have an MBA, MS or BA/BS ideally with a background in a relevant scientific subject; an advanced degree in a Life Sciences subject is desirable (or equivalent experience).

  • Ability to work across various US and international time zones

  • Accommodate occasional travel as needed (10%)
