Thermo Fisher Scientific Field Service Engineer II in Waltham, Massachusetts

DUTIES:

Provide onsite installation of instruments, upgrades, updates, repairs and preventative maintenance service.

Achieve specified revenue targets while satisfying customer from instrument repair, installs and PM's.

Interact with customers to offer and close the sale of service contracts and other service products.

Collaborate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes.

Follow all reporting responsibilities of Remote Service Dispatch (RSD), Escalation, Field Problem Report (FPR) and Field Service Report (FSR) submissions.

Follow policies that pertain to the handling of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical count, and car stock management.

Execute Qualification & Validation Products at customer sites.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or related field of study plus 3 years of science, engineering, customer skills or related experience.

Must have experience or knowledge of:

Experience in a clinical, diagnostic or other regulated environment (CAP, CLIA, FDA);

Linux expertise for NGS instruments (Ubuntu);

Lead Field Service Engineer for two new high-profile instrument releases (Genexus and Amplitude);

Biochemistry development working with NGS instruments (PGM Dx system);

Support the district to reduce the Preventive Maintenance backlog, working on the FST program; and

Remote mentoring for Field Service training (KingFisher Family instruments).

Travel:

Roving/Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Will work at various unknown client sites throughout the U.S. for up to 100% of the time. Must be willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. and may be assigned to work at client sites across the U.S. Can work remotely or telecommute.
