Director of Strategy Development and Planning (PSG)

Location: Durham, NC / Waltham/Needham, MA
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategy developments and deployment efforts at the Group level
Work collaboratively with business units and functions to identify underlying challenges, dynamics and ongoing initiatives
Develop and document a deep understanding of different customer segments and their associated needs
Provide outside-in thought leadership on the future state of the industry and potential impact to overall strategy and businesses
Define strategic context across portfolio of businesses: growth drivers, macro trends, customer dynamics, competitive environment, technology trends, etc. On an ongoing basis monitor, track, interpret, and share industry, competitive and innovation trends
Facilitate the successful development and deployment of the annual strategic planning process (STRAP) by synthesizing the various strategic opportunities into a compelling strategies & vision driving above market growth. Bring expertise and techniques (e.g., scenario planning, portfolio analysis, future-back dreaming) designed to identify and make better decisions under uncertainty
Drive development of prioritized strategic initiatives: high level definition, cost-benefit impact, resource capacity, evaluation of strategic options
Improve business processes to support, implement and track progress on key strategic initiatives
Increase communication & visibility on strategic priorities & progress
Support M&A and partnering opportunities in relation to strategies focused on inorganic growth, as requested
Support innovation opportunities where aligned to defined strategies
Coordinate review process on AIG-PSG innovation opportunities (scorecard, prioritization, progress, etc.)
Support innovation efforts to maximize growth opportunities (VVS, continuous manufacturing)
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree required
10 + years of industry experience in Strategy, Development and New Business Development
Must have M&A experience
Previous experience managing Strategic Planning Process in a global environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Skilled at working and influencing in a Global Matrix environment
