Evolv Technology Director of Product Marketing in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Elevator Pitch

As an experienced Director of Product Marketing at Evolv, you will join a mission-driven team looking to make the world a safer place to live, work, learn and play. Your mission will be to translate our technology into the game changing offerings they are, with simple to digest messaging and defensible, differentiated positioning that compel security professionals and executives to use Evolv offerings, and the ecosystem of security technology vendors to partner with Evolv. The aim – a better, safer world.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

In the first 30 days, you will:

  • Begin to form relationships with Sales, Sales Enablement, Product Management and Marketing counterparts

  • Gain access to all relevant internal systems and begin to understand existing processes and tools

  • Go through Evolv Express product training

  • Develop first draft of differentiated product positioning and messaging around Evolv Express, and a plan to syndicate across marketing channels and trained to our sales and channel teams

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Develop partnerships with sales and customers that help us better understand what's going on in the sales engagements

  • Develop a partnership with product management to help us understand what's coming out and mold that messaging for the best customer consumption

  • Create differentiated product positioning and messaging around Evolv Express, personas identified and explained across strategic industry verticals (Education/K-12, Healthcare, and Workplaces)

  • Begin the formation of a Customer Advisory Board (outline formalized, date selection, customer definition and recruitment)

By the end of the first year, you will:

  • Successfully improve our win percentage against competitors

  • Help to increase conversion rates across Evolv Express call to actions

  • Develop partnerships with at least three ecosystem partners developed through joint marketing programs launched

  • Have developed at least two analyst reports, new category development engagement with an analyst

  • Initiate conversations and spread the message of thought leadership regarding security through various platforms in the market

    The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Matrixed Collaboration and Partnership

  • Be the bridge between the product teams and the prospect/customer-facing teams, successfully translating our product offerings into market value in marketing, selling and customer engagements.

  • Develop content in support of our go-to-market sales, partners and marketing forces

  • Establish successful improvement of conversion rates through marketing channels and improved win rates against the competition

Strategy and Positioning

  • Develop effective and customized messaging to explain Evolv’s value proposition across products, services, and platforms, that resonate with our stakeholders and buyers, while providing a vision for growth as we add new products and services into our offerings

  • Develop clear positioning and messaging, maintained and evangelized throughout the organization

  • Successfully improving conversion rates across marketing channels

New Category Development

  • Develop a blueprint for a new category that exhibits Evolv as the leader, working with industry analysts to drive this forward into a category

  • Help Evolv be positively evaluated by an industry analyst and new thinking about the category by an industry analyst resulting in a report

Thought Leadership

  • Develop and evangelize conversations in concert with the security ecosystem conveying the Evolv point of view, focused on driving the industry forward

  • Have deliberate conversations recognized and evangelized by security experts from our channel and ecosystem partners, customers and industry experts communicating those topics in the press, and a launch of the first Evolv Threat Index Report

Customer Partnership

  • Develop a customer advisory board for K-12 and Healthcare customers

  • Launch the first Customer Advisory Board, customers signed in for both industries, while also maintaining a 6-month cadence.

  • You will be joining the Marketing team and report to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Where is the role located?

  • The location of this role is flexible in the United States, with a preference for this person to be local to our HQ in Waltham, Massachusetts. Travel for this role is required (approximately 25%).
