The Brand Protection Manager will be responsible for protecting the integrity of Wolverine Worldwide’s portfolio of brands by developing, implementing and monitoring (directly and through direct reports) the Company’s strategies and policies, including the Rules of Engagement, minimum advertised pricing (“MAP”) policy, and the search engine marketing/trademark policy. This position will work strategically with senior executives, brand presidents, managers, heads of sales, the Company’s Direct to Consumer (“DTC”) and wholesale teams to ensure compliance with these strategies and policies, protect the integrity of the Company’s brands in the consumer marketplace, and redress the increasing volume of unauthorized or violative sales or advertising. The Brand Protection Manager will (i) provide recommendations and implement the Company’s policies and processes relating to MAP, SEM, Internet and Drop-Ship Agreements, Value Added Services, and counterfeit product, among others; and (ii) develop and implement management reporting tools relating to compliance with such policies.
Oversee implementation and enforcement of the Company’s MAP policies across all brands
Provide recommendations and implement best practice initiatives and processes to enforce the Company’s Rules of Engagement
Establish key performance indicators (“KPIs”) to provide increased visibility to level of compliance with the policies and to set benchmarks that ensure our brands are being appropriately represented online
Develop internal processes for researching, monitoring, and measuring price advertising patterns of Company products online
Identify, engage and evaluate performance of digital monitoring tools and services to assist with MAP compliance and reduce the presence of unauthorized marketplace sellers
Manage the job functions of the Brand Protection Coordinator(s)
Coach and educate brand sales teams to understand the policies and help ensure effective compliance with those policies by all retailers
Identify unknown/unauthorized retailers selling Wolverine products to brands and work with the Legal department, third-party service providers, and impacted brands on enforcement strategies
Formulate and effectively communicate data-driven recommendations, transforming qualitative data into relevant executive summaries for Senior Management decision making; generate standard and customized reports to monitor ongoing compliance
Identify and implement multiple technologies and strategies to detect, analyze, and remove infringement violations of WWW products
Audit, identify, and report MAP and other policy violations to the brands; work with brand leaders and the Legal department on appropriate remedial action
Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager
Bachelor’s degree; 5 years+ sales operations or similar experience
Experience with e-commerce practices, including affiliate networks, aggregator sites, SEM, MAP policies, on-line commerce and shopping eco-systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to lead, coach, inspire and develop
Strong qualitative and quantitative skills to make impactful business decisions and lead cross functional teams
