Job Description and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Benefits Finance, the Financial Analyst, Benefits Finance plays a critical role in the Benefits Finance department within Corporate Accounting, which is based in Waltham, MA working as a hybrid in-person/remote team. The Benefits Finance department oversees the financial accounting, reporting, funding, and forecasting aspects of the Company’s benefits offerings, including active and post-retirement medical, dental, life insurance, disability, and pension benefit programs. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for various items including but not limited to:
Working with a variety of third-party vendors and internal contacts to process the payment of, and accounting for, benefit claims, expenses, and other financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts of Company benefit costs.
Assisting in the preparation of the Company’s and the benefit plans’ financial statement disclosures, annual filings, and submissions to the US government.
Participating in audit support activities, which may include leading calls with auditors, review of vendor SOC1 reports, and testing of applicable controls among other items.
Participating in ad hoc special projects, as needed, including plan design analysis and process improvement initiatives.
This position can be a salary grade level P1 (Analyst FP&A) or P2 (Sr Analyst FP&A ) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position.
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools especially Excel as well as PowerPoint and Word
Ability to work effectively in a team environment; must work well with others
Knowledge of basic Accounting /Finance practice, functions and terminology
Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and schedule priorities
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
An interest in critical thinking and complex problem solving
Ability to help identify and execute process improvements
Education and Experience
- This role typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline
- This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
