State of Massachusetts Storekeeper II - MCI- Cedar Junction - DOC in Walpole, Massachusetts
Duties:Receives all food items, produce, milk, and USDA products and transports these items into the institution. Orders, receives, and distributes all paper supplies, cleaning supplies, office supplies for the institution in accordance with institutional procedures / policies maintaining proper inventories for all items. Responsible for physical property inventory of the institution on a daily basis keeping an accurate inventory of all items. Unpacks and examines incoming goods to verity quality, quantity, and condition of goods for conformance to specifications, including counting, weighing, and/or sorting the articles; stores goods, supplies, and equipment in appropriate storage containers according to institution procedures and policies. Supervises inmates in work activities to ensure compliance with established standards. Ensures all areas of assignment are kept clean and organized at all times following all institutional procedures and policies. All other duties consequential and related to the safe and secure operation of an active warehouse distribution center, within an institutional environment. As well as some duties relative to Food Service Operation from the FSD including but not limited to set-up, PREPARATION and breakdown of special events.
Knowledge of types/uses of Material Handling Equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks), general office equipment (PC, photocopier, fax, etc.); knowledge of standard storekeeping methods and practices (recordkeeping techniques, receiving of goods process, etc.) and knowledge of principles and methods of inventory control of supplies and equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft programs; excel, word and access.
This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least one year of full-time, or equivalent part- time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment.
