Judd Wire Inc. Electrician - 1st shift in Turners Falls, Massachusetts
Electrician 1st shift Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a 1st shift Electrician in our Turners Falls, MA facility. This individual will be responsible to perform a variety of electrical maintenance troubleshooting and repairs; fabrication of electrical/electronic needs for machines build in house; ordering of spare parts and supplies; and other similar duties necessary to maintain machines in operating conditions. Job Duties and Responsibilities Work from prints, specifications, manuals, etc. verbal and written instructions to make repairs to electrical/electronic systems. Use measuring instruments and hand tools. Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems. Fabricate electrical and electronic components needed for machinery build in house. Prepare schematics for new machinery. Maintain various support equipment necessary to keep production machinery operating such as; air compressors, chillers, boilers. Assist in the installation of production equipment such as extruders, cablers, irradiation machinery, etc. Repair and trouble shoot drives and PLC?s. Initiate purchase orders and maintain inventory through stock room. Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, unusual conditions to supervision. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition. Maintain Inventory. Uses prints, specifications, follows verbal instruction to make repairs to electrical systems. Install pipe. Run electrical lines, install switches, lamps, fixtures, etc. State license required for Installation and Industrial Electrician Qualifications State Electrical License required High School diploma or GED 3+ years of experience Knowledge of mathematics, including decimals and fractions; use of specifications, drawings and wiring diagrams together with adjustable measuring instruments Ability to make decisions and plan ahead Position involves diverse maintenance duties while using considerable physical effort consisting of frequently moving heavyweight materials up to 50lbs; carry power tools, materials and/or equipment; stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching or crawling as needed; climbing, working on ladders, scaffolds and lifts up to 30 feet high. Working conditions will expose employee to dust, cold, heat, noise, fumes, vibrations, etc Ability to be on call and work all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime
